Yacht Charter Bali

Your Bali yacht charter begins in Serangan. After sailing into the Lombok Straits, with views of the majestic Agung volcano, settle on an easterly course to arrive at the Gili Islands, northwest Lombok. The Gili islands have suburb white sand beaches, excellent snorkelling and diving.

Less developed than Bali, the tourism in Lombok is still low key and the beaches and mountains are stunning. From Amoramor Bay you can go ashore for an excursion to the Sendang Gile Waterfalls in the lush foothills of the Rinjani volcano.

Moyo is a small island and nature reserve off the north coast of Sumbawa. There are several fine snorkelling sites along its west coast and one can also go ashore to visit the village of Labuanhaji. Moyo is a haven for hikers and nature enthusiasts. The hilly island's forests are filled with a variety of animal life, from deer and macaque monkeys to wild boar. Sea eagles, kite and osprey claim the island shores.

The uninhabited island of Satonda is separated by a narrow strait from the Tambora volcano on the Sumbawa mainland, the site of the largest eruption in recorded history. Satonda itself is a small volcano and a salty lake fills its crater. At sunset you can enjoy the spectacle of a large colony of fruit eating giant bats flying overhead.

Sangean Island is an active volcano towering 1800 meters above the surrounding water. Stop here to visit the tiny settlement on the island and swim in crystal-clear waters. On the Sumbawa mainland is the village of Wera, a Buginese village known for boatbuilding. See all kinds of craft in various stages of construction, including the "Phinisi" trading ships of Indonesia.

Gili Banta is the first of the islands in the Komodo Archipelago. This island provides a crescent shaped bay that offers a beautiful anchorage from where you can jump into turquoise water and swim to the white sandy beach. The island of Gili Lawa Laut, on the northeast tip of Komodo, is offers beautiful moonscape scenery, fantastic little bays and beaches and the best dive sites of the entire Komodo National Park.

Komodo Island is famous for the endemic inhabitants: giant lizard known as the Komodo Dragon and will provide one of the highlights of your yacht charter. One can go hiking and looking for the 'dragons', and also wild horses, water buffalo, wild boar, and monkeys in spectacular scenery of savannah and emerald coves. A climb up a local summit and you can enjoy a splendid panorama over the archipelago. Red Beach, directly across the bay from Komodo village, has unique pink-red sand caused by tiny fragments of red coral.

A good area for relaxation, Sabalon reef, next to Sabajor Island, has a huge variety of live coral and beautiful fish. Great for snorkelling, diving, beach exploration.

From Labuanbajo you can make a tour to a nearby village where, if the time is right, you can attend the 'whip-fight dance' ceremonies. Unique to the Manggarai people of West Flores, this fascinating display of dance and war is never over until blood is drawn and these warriors wear their lacerations with pride, as they are the marks of bravery.

Your Bali yacht charter takes you eastwards to Riung, you’ll find a small archipelago of 17 islets, just north of the coast of Flores, and a good place for snorkelling, relaxing, beach-combing or climbing one of the summits to enjoy the panorama over the sea and Flores.

From the small harbour of Ropa take a car to visit the Kelimutu volcano, famous for its three coloured lakes. Tiwu Ata Mbupu (Lake of Old People) is usually blue. The other two lakes, Tiwu Nuwa Muri Koo Fai (Lake of Young Men and Maidens) and Tiwu Ata Polo (Bewitched or Enchanted Lake) are separated by a shared crater wall and are typically green or red in color, respectively.

Return to the Komodo Archipelago, with the chance to visit Rinca island, the second biggest in the Komodo archipelago, and also the richest in terms of fauna. Another opportunity to catch a glimpse of the Komodo Dragon.

Return to Moyo island for a waterfall excursion which begins with a walk through a village to a waiting vehicle, and drive along a road which melts into a jungle path covered in leaves and vines before revealing a series of waterfalls that cascade into terraced, limestone pools.

In Sumbawa Besar, you can visit the local market and the palace of 'Dalam Loka' constructed during the reign of Sultan Muhammad Jalaludin III (1883-1931). The palace is an example of the local traditional architectural style. Mainly using wood for its construction, it is supported by 99 wooden poles, which coincides with Asmaul Husna (the 99 names of God Almighty), according to the local belief.

From Lembar, southwest Lombok you can make a tour to the west visiting original Sasak villages where you can admire the local arts of pottery and hand weaving.
