Fiji consists of 322 islands and 522 smaller islets. The two most important islands are Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. They are mountainous, with peaks up to 1,300 metres, and covered with thick tropical forests. Taking a boat charter in Fiji allows one to experience a culture that is a rich mosaic of indigenous, Indian, Chinese and European traditions, comprising unique language, food, craft and music. The Yasawa Islands are comprised of about 20 volcanic islands in a chain just off the northwest coast of Viti Levu. They are known for their pristine tropical white sand beaches, crystal clear water and picturesque views.
For this itinerary most of the travelling is inside the reefs with short passages, fine beaches and a sunny climate, as it is the dry side of Fiji. Here you are likely to see a few boats; it is still unspoilt with good safe diving and great snorkelling. Fishing in this area has something for everyone.
Board at Denarau Marina close to Nadi Airport. Depart for a cruise through the Mamanucas to Mana and then to Vanua Levu. Snorkel and enjoy the beach. Steam to Waya and visit the Fijian village Namara for traditional Sevu Sevu. Anchor here for the night.
At Waya Island, dive Fantasy Reef or go snorkelling and have some quality beach time with kayaks and other water toys. After lunch, cruise to Blue Lagoon Island (3 1⁄2 hrs) and anchor for the night.
Blue Lagoon Island is a good place for beach visits, hiking, kayaking, diving, fish feeding, and playing with the water toys. We can arrange a Lovo on the beach with Fijian music. This is the traditional way of cooking on rocks in the ground.
Depart for Liku -Yasawa Irara the most northern island in the group (approximately 2hrs) There are beautiful beaches in this area, to snorkel swim and dive. There is also good hiking and it is great for water toys. Anchor for the night (weather permitting) or move to Vawa. Enjoy night fishing.
Stay in this area with many beaches to explore and enjoy “meke” which is traditional Fijian dancing at one of the villages.
On the penultimate day of your Fiji yacht charter, depart for Sawa i Lau for a visit to the underwater caves. The island also provides a great location for hiking as well as swimming and snorkelling. Steam to Namara in the evening for a night anchorage.
Go diving around Vomo island in the morning, then depart for Port Denarau (approximately 4 hrs) and pick up your transport to the airport.
