A wonderful location for yacht charter, Tioman Island (known locally as Pulau Tioman) is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful islands in the world. It is the largest and most developed of the volcanic islands that make up the Pahang Marine Park; the other islands being Renggis, Sepoi, Labas, Soyak, Chebeh, Tulai, Sembilang and Seri Buat. In 1958, Pulau Tioman was chosen to be James Michener's fictitious Bali Hai for the filming of the Hollywood classic, South Pacific. Since then, Tioman Island has become a popular tourist attraction especially among underwater explorers.
