Fraser Yachts people

Tom was born and raised in San Diego, third generation. He started sailing at the age of 14 at the San Diego Yacht Club. After two years of college, the mountain resorts were calling his name, and he headed for crisp clean air and a little skiing. Tom joined the US Navy in 1967 and was stationed on the BON HOMME RICHARD and did two tours of Vietnam. He also did tours of Japan, Singapore, and the Philippines. After the navy he headed off to the Caribbean and took a job as 1st mate on an 80 Ft Ketch, which was a very successful charter boat. He then sailed the islands for a while, only to return to his hometown of San Diego. A few years later Tom took a job in Alaska on the pipeline operating heavy equipment. This was hard work, long hours, cold temperatures, but good money !! Once the pipeline was completed Tom needed warm weather and sunshine and Tom was fortunate to get an interview with David Fraser who hired shortly after. He started as a Fraser Yachts broker in the San Diego office in 1980, and never looked back. After asking Tom what his thoughts are on his 20 plus years in the company, he states : ñWhat a great company, I can't imagine doing anything elseî. Tom married Ann in 1990. They have two great boys, which keep him young with surfing, water skiing, snow skiing, and coaching baseball.
