Charter Marketing Manager

Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL


Position Summary

The ideal candidate for this position is an individual who has worked in a global organization, has broad international work and travel experience and thrives in a fast-paced environment.  He or she has excellent relationship building skills and fosters close relations with Captains and Yacht Owners in order to proactively target, build and sustain a vibrant fleet of desirable mega yachts available for charter. This position will also help organize the company’s successful involvement in International Yacht charter shows. He or she will have fiscal responsibilities to operate within approved budgets and meet or exceed targeted annual commission levels. He or she will have a strong interest in sales and the ability to motivate the team to exceed commission targets.

 
 

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to)

  • Foster teamwork and help Charter Management teams achieve departmental goals.
  • Actively solicit and gain new boats in the fleet.
  • Prepare marketing and sales presentations for owners and captains.
  • Operate within approved budgets and meet or exceed revenue targets.
  • Develop strategic plans to successfully charter boats.
  • Maintain good records on specs, calendars, and notes on pertinent information.
  • Enter all contract deals in the CRM and update of owner and boat information.
  • Create marketing material from the CRM.
  • Travel is required ranging from day to week-long trips. The incumbent must be willing and able to travel internationally to attend boat shows, visit yacht owners, captains and yachts, and attend other yacht industry or company events as necessary.
 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills required
  • Fluency in English is a requirement.  The ability to speak a second language is a plus.
  • Strong negotiating skills preferred and attention to detail a must.
  • Computer literacy:  Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Yachting Search engines and Proprietary company software programs.

Experience:

  • Three years of experience as Charter Marketing Manager within the Yachting industry preferred

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in business or marketing.

    Relevant work experience may be substituted for educational experience.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES

Work Environment

  • Work is conducted most often indoors in an air conditioned, illuminated office environment and periodically outdoors inspecting boats, meeting with yacht captains, and crew aboard vessels, at ports, and on floating barges.
  • Utilization of standard office equipment is used in the working environment.
  • Motor skills and senses needed to carry out duties include talking, listening, typing, writing, visual inspection of documents and spaces.

Physical Abilities: 

 

  • Light lifting, pushing, walking, and climbing stairs on boats.
