The Antigua Yacht Show 2011

Antigua yacht show 2011

The Antigua Yacht Show, arguably the Caribbean’s largest yachting event, will take centre stage later this year when it opens its doors on December 4th. Thousands will descend on the island as it provides the last opportunity to view motor yachts for sale in 2011, with the next major yacht show being the Antibes yacht show in April 2012.

The show, which is held in first-class marinas in both the English Harbour and Falmouth Harbour to the south of the island of Antigua, offers yachting enthusiasts the final chance to check out what is happening in the world of motor yacht sales this year. More than 100 super yachts will be presented at the show, which will for the first time ever in its 50-year history run over six days in Nelson’s Dockyard Marina, the Antigua Yacht Club and Falmouth Harbour Marina. A shuttle service will be in operation to ferry attendees from the different sites.
There will also be representatives from Fraser Yachts one of the world’s leading luxury yacht brokers who will be on hand to advise potential clients on mega yacht sales not just in the Caribbean but across the globe. Antigua is the home of yacht charter, having been founded here in 1949 when the first charters began sailing from English Harbour. The island is now the geographical and yachting centre of the Caribbean, and often the first port of call for yachts crossing the Atlantic from Europe. All registered yachts will remain on the dock throughout the first five days of the show, and will be open to the public or those interested in yacht brokerage to visit during this time. However on the sixth day – which has been designated ‘Day Sail’ – visitors and those interested in yacht brokerage will be offered the chance to set sail on a ‘micro-charter’. The idea is to give brokers and those interested in owning a luxury yacht a real insight into the wonderful possibilities of cruising Antigua’s stunning coast. The island boasts 365 beautiful white beaches – one for every day of the year – but many of the best are only approachable from the sea. There are also a number of reefs which make perfect snorkeling and diving sites. For further information on yacht brokerage and motor yacht sales please visit Fraser Yachts main website.
