Romain was naturally brought to the yachting industry thanks to his passion for sailing and sailboats, which first started to grow as early as he can remember, when he was a child, during long family cruising trips. His love for helming, trimming sails and navigation soon pushed him to the boat racing world. Then, Romain studied engineering and applied mechanics, in Brittany, when he joined the youth sailing team of La trinité Sur Mer.
Once he graduated with an Engineering and Applied Mechanics Diploma in 2005, Romain decided to take another step towards his passion and moved to Southampton, UK, where he studied for three years to become a Naval Architect. In parallel he joined a local sailing team with who he challenged many other international crews participating to the RORC offshore races like the Cowes-Cascais, Rolex middle sea or Fastnet Race. In 2008, Romain successfully obtained a Bachelor of Engineering in Yacht and Powercraft Design which widely expended his knowledge and culture of yachts.
After his first work experience as a Naval Architect at Butch Design, Romain joined Monaco Marine La Ciotat in 2009, as a Project Manager, where he successfully completed numerous large yachts refits over nine years. Still driven by the same passion but armed with the broad skills acquired from his past projects, Romain joined Fraser’s yacht management team as Technical Superintendant in 2018.
