Vincent Tabuteau was born in St Malo, Brittany, a land of strong sailing tradition and he completed a mechanical engineering diploma in Paris. In the late 70’s he operated his own charter yacht between Greece and Turkey before moving to Phuket in 1983 as the skipper for the very first yacht charter in Thailand.
Over the next few years Vincent supervised the construction of a Siamese Junk and the reffiting of two Malaysian Pinas type Junk Schooners before setting up Asia Marine in 1987. The company, based in Phuket initially, was involved in the building and management of tour boats for Aman Puri Hotels and Pansea Hotels and over the next two decades Asia Marine conceived, built, refit and managed many different tourism boats such as June Bahtra and Maha Patra in Phuket, Manhora and Mekhala on the Bangkok River, Luang Sai and Wat Pou on the Mekong river in Laos.
In 1990 Vincent moved to Bangkok as Managing Director of one of the leading regional DMC and developed a fleet of 10 tour boats and 5 Eco Lodges with some 300 staff over 5 countries in South East Asia. In 1995 Asia Marine was appointed by Sunsail to manage a fleet of 7 Bare Boats anchored in the North of Phuket in what is now Yacht Haven . Sunsail worldwide marketing exposure truly positioned Phuket as a yachting destination.
It was in 2007 that Vincent moved to Phuket to redevelop Asia Marine aiming at capitalising on the fast development of the Luxury Yachting.
Vincent is a member of CYBA (Charter Yacht Brokers Association) and PATA (Pacific Asia Travel Association) and is a founding member of APSA ( Asia Pacific Super Yacht Association) and Vice President of TMBA (Thai Marine Business Association).
Today Asia Marine is involved in Yacht Charter, Yacht dealership and the management of a fleet of 20 charter boats from sailing Bare-boats, Day Tours Power boats and large crewed yachts charters.
