SCOUT, built by the Dutch shipyard Royal Hakvoort in 2019, is a custom expedition yacht created for true long-range exploration,  yet she maintains a clear standard of yacht comfort and luxury. Designed inside and out by H2 Yacht Design, with Naval architecture by Diana Yacht Design, she is laid out across 6 decks. SCOUT was conceived as a private globe circling residence rather than a conventional superyacht. She was built for extended periods of cruising at sea and with her technical infrastructure and an ice-class steel hull she can access far beyond normal cruising grounds. 

SCOUT accommodates up to 16 guests across 7 staterooms, with the Owner’s Stateroom enjoying privacy on its own dedicated deck. Positioned looking aft, the Owner’s Stateroom features a king-sized berth, two generous wardrobe areas and his and her bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a bathtub. Doors from each lead directly onto the deck. An adjoining library creates an additional retreat for the Owner. Four double guest staterooms are positioned on the main deck, while two additional  guest staterooms with queen berths that can convert to twins are on the lower deck to provide further accommodation. Each also has a Pullman berth. A glass guest elevator connects the lower deck through to the bridge deck, with a separate elevator continuing to the sundeck. 

The main salon is arranged around circular sofas, which are topped over by an interactive ceiling screen, which can transform the space with immersive imagery, including famous underwater scenes. Higher up, a forward panoramic observation lounge on the Owner’s Deck overlooks the foredeck with windows on all sides, offering an ideal setting for dining, cocktails or simply taking in the surroundings while underway.

The sundeck provides an expansive setting for outdoor living in a wide variety of climates. A dining table for 14 sits beneath the hardtop, complemented by multiple lounge areas, a bar, a bathroom and a 10-person hot tub surrounded by extensive sun pads. Sliding glass windbreaks, overhead heaters and awnings enhance comfort in cooler or less favorable conditions, while preserving the open layout from forward to aft. 

Above the sundeck, an elevated crow’s nest provides yet another dedicated observation point with commanding forward views. 

SCOUT is not only about serious exploration but also wellness. Her expansive beach club opens directly onto the water with a fully equipped gym, sauna, massage room, dressing room, bathroom and shower. This area also has an adjoining dive center, complete with a Nitrox dive system and dedicated equipment storage, which supports underwater excursions in remote destinations. Her extensive toy storage in a forward garage and large tender capacities further reflect a design centered around spending extended periods exploring.

Equipped with Caterpillar 3512C engines, SCOUT has a cruising speed of 12.5 knots and a maximum speed of 15.2 knots, while her economical 10-knot cruising speed gives her a range of 6,300 nautical miles with a 10% fuel reserve. Her ice-class hull, stabilization at rest, exceptional refrigerated and dry storage areas, and a touch-and-go helicopter deck, with a landing weight limit of 3,175 kg, further support genuine global exploration. Combining Northern European build quality, substantial autonomy and thoughtfully designed guest spaces, SCOUT is a highly capable yacht engineered to explore all regions of the globe.
