NEW-BUILD MARKET ON THE RISE

The global new-build superyacht market in 2026 is experiencing a high in activity, as demand for both custom and semi-custom yachts remains resilient. Shipyards are operating at high capacity, with long lead times, particularly among top-tier yards.
There are currently over 600 yachts over 30m/100’ under construction, with larger, more complex projects at the forefront. Fraser continues to lead the new-build market, having secured an unparalleled 13 new-build projects up to 80m/262’ in length over the past 24 months (approximately twice as many as the nearest competitor).
The average build length has reached an all-time high of 48.5m/159’ as Owners look to greater scale, complexity and technical sophistication in their yachts. According to The Global Order Book 2026, of all vessels in progress, 26 are over 100m/328’, totaling over 160,000 GT. 2025 saw the launch of several landmark yachts incorporating remarkable technological innovations and extraordinary design statements.
Owners today are looking to market-leading brokerage houses with a proven track record of successful new-build sales, such as Fraser.
Europe dominates production, led by Italy with over 55% of global yachts in build, and Azimut-Benetti remains the world’s largest builder by volume. Türkiye remains the second-largest building nation, with 90 projects in build, although 2025 saw a slight decline in orders after years of growth, partly due to inflation and rising costs. The Netherlands ranks third with 52 projects, delivering fewer yachts by number but continuing to dominate the construction of the world’s largest and most technically sophisticated vessels.
