Australasia yacht charter

Increasing numbers of superyachts are making their way to the cruising grounds of Australasia as a base, and charterers are reaping the rewards. As such a widespread region with myriad exciting experiences to be had, the best way of travelling to enjoy what is on offer without forgoing luxury is through an Australasia yacht charter. Snorkel alongside minke whales or swim by a waterfall in the outback, sail to Hamilton Island or see a Haka performed by a Maori group. There’s no end to the charter opportunities in Australasia.

Covering such a huge area there is a wide range of climates and therefore best times to charter a yacht in Australasia. If you want to dive and snorkel the Great Barrier Reef this can be done all year round with average water temperatures ranging from 23-29°C (73-84°F) although the winter drier months of May-October will offer less rainfall for when you do surface above the water and more pleasant day time temperatures of 25-29 °C (77-84°F)

The Kimberley offers a tropical climate and therefore it is best to visit during the winter drier months of May to October when the climate is characterised by clear blue skies, easterly winds and balmy days .

New Zealand however offers a more diverse range of temperatures, with the North Island having subtropical weather in the summer months while the South Island where there are several glaciers and magnificent fjordlands to visit can get as cold as -10°C (14°F) in the winter, although it is generally substantially milder along the coast line.

A yacht charter in Australia can be perfectly adapted to your tastes and your timescale. For shorter trips, a day charter in Sydney can combine the buzzing cosmopolitan scene with whale watching just a few kilometres up the coast. For those with a little more time, a trip to the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef is sure to make lasting memories for all on board; this huge protected marine area is home to some of the most spectacular aquatic reserves on the planet. And for those who want to lose all sense of time completely, the Kimberley is the perfect antedote to a hectic lifestyle; the prehistoric landscape and tropical climate will leave you in awe.
