BURRASCA awarded Grand Prize at Cyclades Cup

56m/184’ BURRASCA, the largest Perini Navi yacht available for charter in Greece and a star of the Fraser Greece charter fleet, has won the Grand Prize at the 2025 Cyclades Cup. BURRASCA also won overall in her Apollo class, after phenomenal performances which saw her rebound from a Day One penalty.

“The yacht’s consistency across changing conditions, and its commanding finish in the Apollo class, made it a deserving recipient of the ‘Head of the Fleet’ title,” said magazine Boat International. The prize was a hand-carved replica Parian white marble Cycladic head, inspired by the Museum of Cycladic Art.
Charter Specialist at Fraser Greece Helen Skourti was on board. Here, she describes the intensity and exhilaration of the experience.
Words can scarcely capture the exhilaration of this race — the sheer intensity, the adrenaline, the magic of the moment. What made it even more extraordinary was the journey leading up to it: BURRASCA arrived in Antiparos a mere three hours before the start, having been launched from the drydock just twelve hours prior.
This feat was only made possible by the Owner's unwavering commitment and deep belief in this event. His determination ensured that the yacht would be ready, no matter the odds. We held our breath until the very last minute, awaiting the green light for Day One.
The winds favored us — remarkably so for a yacht of this size and weight. With ‘fresh’ sails, a newly coated hull, and a powerhouse of an experienced racing crew at the helm, led by Simos Kambouridis — alongside the Owner himself — we set out with high hopes and hearts racing. At peak performance, the yacht heeled to 20 degrees, carving through the course with precision.
The highlight of the first day came just before the finish line, when we managed to overtake our formidable competitor, FIVEA. The moment we crossed the line and heard the horn sound was unforgettable — a wave of euphoria swept through us, and we erupted in joy.
Day Two brought even stronger winds, again in our favor. We secured an early lead and held it steadfastly all the way to the finish. It was a triumphant return for BURRASCA, especially after last year’s challenges. This wasn’t just a race — it was a comeback, and one we will cherish forever.
The entire Fraser team sends our congratulations to the Owner, Captain and crew of BURRASCA for this landmark win.
This was the second edition of the Cyclades Cup, held in Antiparos, Greece under the famed Meltemi winds. Held in partnership with the Yacht Club of Greece and officially endorsed by the Super Yacht Racing Association, this growing event unites superyacht Owners, Captains, crew and sailing aficionados in clear, natural, unspoilt waters. The social agenda featured sunset cocktails, tours of Antiparos and unique dining experiences.
