Fraser Hosts Captains’ Round Table on Refit Projects

Fraser held an insightful, lively and productive Captains’ Round Table centered around Optimizing Refit Projects earlier this month, in partnership with Palumbo Superyachts Refit.

The session, ‘Refit Projects - Challenges and Turning Points for Perfect Execution’, brought together Captains from the Fraser fleet, across various sizes and styles of yacht, with representatives from the Fraser Yacht Management and Sales teams, and key figures from Palumbo Superyacht Refit. The session was moderated by Fraser Global Partnership Director Charlotte Harris.
A focused morning of discussion and shared insight explored the challenges of refit projects, key turning points, and necessary steps to achieving seamless execution. The conversation enabled Fraser Yacht Management to receive direct insight into ways to further elevate our service offering to Captains and Owners.
The importance of transparency and openness throughout the refit process was universally underlined, as was the value of finding effective solutions where needed. The discussion also highlighted how the presence of a shipyard Project Manager on board physically is of significant benefit, working alongside digital technology.
Shipyard workforce issues were also raised. Palumbo’s presence in multiple locations across Europe enables the fluid transfer of shipyard teams between bases to provide the necessary manpower and expertise to deliver on time. This turns out to be a valuable asset when it comes to challenging projects such as rebuilds, conversions, and extensions, in which the network of shipyards is specialized, alongside ordinary maintenance.
The event offered a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences, strengthen relationships, and continue building collaboration within the superyacht community.
We look forward to hosting further insight-sharing events in the coming months.
