Michael grew up on and around yachts in San Diego, CA. At a young age he began his yachting career by working at his family’s boatyard located on Shelter Island and began sailing not long after at the age of 9. In addition to working in the boatyard, he spent many summers cruising on his family’s yachts from the Thousand Islands on the East Coast, to Catalina, San Joaquin Delta and the Pacific Northwest. In 2000, he was presented with the opportunity to purchase one of the very yachts that he had spent many days aboard while growing up, a 1962 55’ Stephens Flush deck motoryacht. After an extensive refit and 15 years of his own family memories the opportunity of a buyer presented itself and therefore it was time to move forward. “Selling something so soulful is tough and closes a chapter but opens many new opportunities and gives way to future fun.”

Before joining Fraser, Michael worked in the real estate industry and was a top producer as well as became the number one sales person in his region. During this time he continued to fulfill his love of boating by owning his own vessels. He then combined his interest in sales with his passion for boating by taking a position with a yacht brokerage house in Newport Beach, CA. This enabled him to learn the ropes of the industry before venturing out to start his own company, “American Yachts”, which opened in 2000 with two locations, Newport Beach and San Diego. Not only was this a successful adventure, but an enormous learning experience that enabled Michael to encompass everything involved to be successful in this industry. Due to demand, he sold his company in 2004, and even though this was one of the most significant and important experiences in his life, when the opportunity to join the elite team at Fraser was presented, he was not only honored, but excited at the opportunities and challenges that lay ahead with such a reputable and admired company. Fraser has enabled Michael to expand into the Global aspect of yachting including touring many US and European shipyards and attending yacht shows globally. Now with the company 11 years, Fraser has given Michael the knowledge and expertise in which a large yacht client expects. As of 2015, Michael relocated his family to the East coast, and now resides in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Being located in the world’s largest yacht haven has been beneficial to not only representing owners and buyers but extending his sales portfolio as well.
