Harald Van Exem

Born in Antwerp, Belgium, Harald studied Nautical Sciences at the Maritime Academy. He started his seagoing career with the Exmar Group and sailed on tankers for 10 years rising through the ranks to become Captain. When retiring from sea, he took on a shore position for the same Antwerp based company in the Marine Risk Management division. There he dealt with all aspects of Marine Insurance and focused on H&M and P&I claims for different commercial shipping clients and some yachts. In 2008 he was appointed Director of Marine Operations with the Sailing Passenger Vessel cruise line based in Monaco, dealing with marine operational issues of 3 sailing passenger vessels.
Harald joined Fraser in 2014 as Manager of Yacht Services in Monaco, running the managed fleet from our Monaco office. Since June 2015 he has been the Director of Yacht Services Worldwide, responsible for the Yacht Management division with operational bases in Fort Lauderdale and Monaco as well as The Crew Network with offices in Viareggio, Antibes and Fort Lauderdale. In 2023, he was additionally appointed Executive Vice President of Fraser. Sharing his time between Monaco and Fort Lauderdale, free time is balanced between family and sailing racing dinghies.
