Whitsundays yacht charter itinerary

Whitsundays is centrally located on the Queensland Coast 150km north of Mackay and 300km south of Townsville, yet right in the heart the World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef. The Whitsunday Islands are a feast of the senses; 74 Island wonders, surrounded by natural beauty, strewn with secluded beaches and friendly towns from which to explore.

day 1   Hamilton Island

Guests fly into Hamilton Island and board their luxury charter yacht. Depart for Hook Island, Nara Inlet, where you can take a short walk up to an aboriginal cave with paintings for your first taste of the local surroundings.

day 2   Nara and Butterfly Bays

Remain in Nara Bay for the morning, and then after lunch, head out 5 miles to Butterfly Bay. From here you can visit neighbouring bays and head to Manta Ray Bay for an afternoon of snorkelling. You will anchor here for the night.

day 3   Bait Reef

An early departure for Bait Reef, 18 miles away, is worth it for a day of diving, snorkelling, fishing and reef exploring. Then, weather permitting, you will stay in Bait Reef for the night, or alternatively depart at 16:00 for Boarder Island, 20 miles away, which is famous for its excellent diving and snorkelling potential.

day 4   Haslewood Island

Head 7 miles to Whitehaven Beach on Whitsunday Island, which is also close to Haslewood Island. The yacht will head to the northern end of beach and drop you off at an inlet overlooking the majestic bay. Once there you can enjoy the long white sandy beach, and explore the myriad bays and coves around the island at your leisure.

day 5   Linderman Island

On the fifth day of your luxury yacht charter, head out 10 miles to visit the impressive National Park on Lindeman Island. Here you can experience the hiking trails and marvel at the many of butterflies and varied bird life. You can also visit the local resort.

day 6   Turtle Bay on Whitsunday Island

In the morning, head 8 miles to Turtle Bay on Whitsunday Island, where you can spend the rest of day snorkelling and exploring the coves and bays along this southern stretch of the island.

day 7   Return to Hamilton Island

Return to Hamilton Island in the morning.
