Christmas in Cannes

Christmas Fair in Cannes
Christmas is a truly magical time of year, not least of all in the festival city of Cannes, where the cobbled streets shine with strings of festive lights and lit-up sapins, while the shops are bursting with Christmas fare. And whilst Christmas might not be the usual time of year to be on board your luxury yacht in Cannes, try it once and you'll wonder why you haven't done it before, after all, the Mediterranean has been the retreat for British society in the darker months since the 19th Century.
In fact, it’s one of the best places in the South of France to come to for a spot of Christmas shopping, so why not consult our list below to discover which places not to miss during a Mediterranean yacht charter in Cannes And when you have shopped until you could drop, we advise a glass of festive vin chaud or chilled champagne in one of the many bars that line the harbour before returning to your luxury yacht.
  • Le Marché de Noel in Cannes is definitely one to look out for on any lay over in Cannes.  Located on the Allée de la Liberté, the market promises fun for all the family with more than 60 stalls selling handmade gifts, delicious hot mulled wine and huge plateaus of freshly prepared oysters. There are also lots of activities for the kids to keep them occupied whilst you are on the look out for some great Christmas presents. The market will take place this year between December 8th and January 6th.
  • There are numerous designer shops in Cannes, and a good place to start if your time is limited for Christmas shopping is along La Croisette, on the seafront. Here you will find Gucci, Chanel and Dior, where we are sure you will manage to pick up a few gifts for loved ones – or even yourself.
  • Christmas is a time of good will. It’s also a time for eating well, and Cannes is bursting with wonderful shops selling traditional Provencal food and treats.  So why not head to the city centre from your Mediterranean yacht charter and seek out shops such as Chez Bruno and Maiffret, two of Cannes premier outlets for sweets and chocolates?
