Charter Manager

Location:  Monaco

Position Summary

As a Charter Manager, your role is to build effective charter programs together with the Owners and Captains of your assigned fleet, maximising the yacht promotion on the worldwide market and securing busy charter calendars according to the Owners’ preferences in an efficient and effective manner. You are driven by business development opportunities and take an active role in acquiring new clients for Fraser Yachts’ existing client portfolio.

At ease with networking, you establish strong relationships with the Owner or Owner’s representative and Captain in regards to charter and chartering. In this role, you will be focused first and foremost on client’ needs and will work as a member of the Charter Management Team, using Company procedures and Charter Management practices. 

You will act as the company’s and Owner’s representative for the Yacht. The Charter Manager will have an in-depth knowledge of the market and charter and fiscal regulations in the different countries to be able to guide the clients. He/she will also have expertise on the Yacht, crew, location/itineraries, the rate and further details, to be able to answer quickly and with expertise any questions regarding the charter.

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Fleet Management:

  • Managing a number of yachts of the charter fleet simultaneously;
  • Building up each yacht’s charter season with the aim of optimizing each yacht’s calendar, itinerary and revenues;
  • Keeping the Owner and Crew informed at all times of yacht’s schedule and of relevant developments and opportunities in the charter market;
  • Responding in a professional timely manner to all enquiries from brokers.

 

Business Development:

  • Developing good working relations with captains and crew of managed yachts;
  • Fostering Owner and/or Owner’s representatives relations with the objective of improving client satisfaction;
  • Good at networking, with an objective of acquiring new clients to your existing client portfolio;
  • Marketing portfolio of yachts proactively to in-house and industry brokers;
  • Working proactively to increase the in-house fleet.

 

 Other Responsibilities:

  • Networking with colleagues, other industry players and service providers including charter brokers and captains and crew;
  • Keep abreast with changes in industry rules, regulations and practices;
  • Prepare customized marketing presentations and marketing plans as necessary;
  • Have good working knowledge of international facilities, distances and regulations in main cruising areas worldwide;
  • Organisation and participation to local and international events (yacht shows, open houses, events etc);
  • Contract drafting, review and follow up, handling of payments and VAT and possible problems arising in the charter process etc

 

 
 

REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB (Essential Skills and Prior Experience)

Essential skills

  • Working knowledge of industry tools (Yachtfolio, MYBA e-contracts, etc.);
  • Good spoken and written English, any other language is a plus;
  • Computer literacy: Microsoft Office;
  • Ability to multi-task;
  • Flexibility and high motivation
  • Solid time management skills;
  • Good team player

 

Job experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the same position
